The Reading Fightin Phils got a superb performance from pitcher Phil Crosswhite. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Altoona. The Curve won the game, 4-3. Crosswhite threw 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The win was credited to Joe Regush in relief. His record improves to 8-1. Fernando Cadavid took the loss. Altoona is now 35-62, while Reading is 56-43.

Altoona used the clutch hitting of Tommy Marcinczyk Jr. to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Curve the lead, 4-3. For the game, Marcinczyk Jr. had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Marcinczyk Jr. told the Altoona Daily.
