RubberDucks Smoke SeaWolves, 13-2
The Akron RubberDucks got production up and down the lineup while beating the Erie SeaWolves, 13-2. One standout was shortstop Ryan Steffen. Steffen was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Jason Elkins, credited with the win, is now 7-4. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 9 innings. The 4th-place RubberDucks now sit at 46-54.

T.J. Martino had a big 3-run home run for the RubberDucks in the bottom of the first inning. With Akron trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Seth Thornton, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2102 draft, and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 10th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the RubberDucks ahead, 3-2.

Erie manager Toby West summed up his team's performance in one word: "Putrid."
