New Hampshire pitcher John Mitchell had a large part in his team beating the Harrisburg Senators, 9-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The first-place Fisher Cats, at 62-38, now lead their division by 10 games.

New Hampshire used the clutch hitting of Juan de la Pena to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Fisher Cats the lead, 3-1. For the game, de la Pena had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"We took a roundhouse punch to the chin," said losing manager Tan Timmermans.
