The Binghamton Mets took on the Trenton Thunder at NYSEG Stadium.

Binghamton registered a win at NYSEG Stadium by beating the Trenton Thunder, 8-1. Pitcher Vince Moellering was one reason why the Mets triumphed. Moellering, who is tied for 10th in the EL in complete games with 2, went the distance for Binghamton. He gave up 1 run on 9 hits.

Rafael Uribe had a big 2-run home run for the Mets in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Binghamton leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Mario Guadamuz and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Mets on top, 4-1.

"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Pat Gilman.

The Mets, at 52-49, sit in second place in the Northern Division.
