Erie used a timely hit from Rich Armentrout to get the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the SeaWolves ahead, 8-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Armentrout, "but we could've played better."
