The Reading Fightin Phils, despite a fine performance by Bowie pitcher Josh Bolton, grabbed a 3-2 win at Prince George's Stadium. Bolton allowed 2 runs over 7 innings. The win makes Reading 30-72.

Reading used the timely hitting of Nick Vega to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fightin Phils on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"This was a tough loss," said Bowie manager Seth Dugas. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
