Mets Snatch Late-Game, 5-4 Win
|
The Binghamton Mets overcame a pretty good performance by New Hampshire designated hitter Sam Goings, beating the Fisher Cats, 5-4, at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Goings was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Binghamton, at 61-43, holds down second place in the Northern Division.
Chris Miller, who leads the EL in extra base hits with 46, helped out the Binghamton cause in the top of the ninth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4 with a walk.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Miller said.
