The Reading Fightin Phils got a marvelous performance from pitcher Larry Northcutt. The left-hander kept the Harrisburg offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Reading victory at FirstEnergy Stadium. The save was credited to Allen Gilmore, his 3rd. The Fightin Phils go to 46-58, putting them 5th in the Southern Division.

The Fightin Phils got a big at-bat from center fielder Miguel Rosario. For the game, Rosario went 1-4 with a triple. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Reading a 1-0 lead.

"We have a lot of confidence in Larry," said Reading manager Daniel Rapp.
