Curve Pick Up 3-1 Road Win Over Hartford

Conditions were not ideal but Altoona and Hartford were able to put their game in the books.
Nick Puckett pitched well, but his team, the Hartford Yard Goats, still dropped a 3-1 decision to the Altoona Curve at New Britain Stadium. Jonathan Walls, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings.
Altoona used a well-timed hit by Frank McClellan to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Curve ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"Tough loss," said Hartford manager Jerry Jones. "But we'll learn from it."
Altoona occupies second place in the Southern Division at 63-40.
