Flying Squirrels Paste 7-2 Loss on Fisher Cats
The Richmond Flying Squirrels topped the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 7-2, in Eastern League action at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Richmond pitcher Melvin Ramon. Ramon, the winner, moves to 11-6. He threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Richmond goes to 50-55, New Hampshire to 44-60.

Richmond used the hitting of Tristan Wheeler to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Flying Squirrels on top, 6-1. For the game, Wheeler had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"There's still time to turn this season around," said Wheeler.
