The Hartford Yard Goats weathered an outstanding game by Altoona catcher Frank McClellan to topple the Curve, 11-8. McClellan was 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Mike Calabro earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. The first-place Yard Goats lifted their record to 61-45.

The Yard Goats got a big hit from first baseman Chris Kuma. In the bottom of the eighth, Kuma smacked a 2-run double off Altoona pitcher Todd Freeman. It was his 3rd double of the season. Suddenly, the Yard Goats were ahead, 9-8.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Kuma told the Hartford Observer.
