New Hampshire beat Binghamton on the strength of starting pitcher Eddie Martinez's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. The save went to Leo Sandoval, number 14 for him. With the win, the Fisher Cats improved to 53-53.

The Fisher Cats ran into trouble in the top of the fifth. The score was 2-1, New Hampshire, with two out. Binghamton, with runners on 1st and 2nd, had Juan Aguirre at the plate. With a base hit, he could have changed the complexion of the game. Instead, he flied out and the Fisher Cats went on to win.
