The Trenton Thunder picked up a win at FirstEnergy Stadium, knocking off the Reading Fightin Phils, 7-4, in 10 innings. On the mound for Trenton was left-hander Josh Smith. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. Trenton is now 44-63.

Trenton used a timely hit from Paul Spitz to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Thunder ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"It was terrific getting this win," Spitz said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
