No Mercy for SeaWolves in 15-1 Pounding
|
Rain could not dampen the pregame excitement of Erie fans. But the subsequent loss, and a disappointing one at that, to the Baysox had to.
The Bowie Baysox pounded the Erie SeaWolves, 15-1, at Jerry Uht Park. Bowie right fielder Jose Nunez had a solid game. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Baysox. Bobby Dawson picked up the save for Bowie, his 2nd of the year.
With Bowie leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Nunez hit a 2-run single off Erie hurler Ali Poe. It was the 84th hit of the season for Nunez and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"We put the pedal to the metal," said Nunez.
The third-place SeaWolves have dropped 4 straight games.
