Thunder Zap Flying Squirrels, 6-5
|
Richmond got a terrific game from left fielder Bill Curtis. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Trenton, 6-5. Curtis went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs. John Hall got the save, the 12th for him this season. Trenton has a record of 42-66, placing them last in the Northern Division.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jeremy Boland? The Trenton catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Thunder on top, 2-0. For the game, Boland had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Boland told the Trenton Herald.
