Mets Zap Senators, 2-1
|
Binghamton pitcher Kevin Rice had a large part in his team beating the Harrisburg Senators, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Jason Bingham collected his 12th save. Their 52-55 record puts the Mets 4th in the Northern Division.
Ricky Cervantes had a direct impact on the outcome. Cervantes contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Binghamton up, 2-0.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Mets manager Matt Young.
