Akron got a valiant performance from pitcher Nate Brager, but it wasn't enough to beat the Altoona Curve. Altoona won the game, 3-2. Brager threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Jose Gonzalez earned the save for Altoona, his 7th of the year. The Curve raised their record to 69-38.

Altoona used a timely hit from Fred Trent to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Curve ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It feels good to get this one," Trent told the Altoona Herald.
