Yard Goats Sneak By Senators, 7-6
|
Harrisburg designated hitter Salvador Laureano had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Laureano went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3, even as Hartford beat the Senators, 7-6, in 10 innings. Nate Jeffries sewed up the save, his 7th. With the win, Hartford raised its record to 63-46.
Hartford used a timely hit from Matt Manning to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Yard Goats ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Jerry Jones, the Hartford manager.
