Baysox Beaten, 4-3, by Akron
|
The Akron RubberDucks grabbed a win, 4-3, over the Bowie Baysox at Canal Park. Akron first baseman Eric Walsh went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jeremy Bess earned save number 10 this season. The third-place RubberDucks sport a record of 59-50.
Walsh contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Akron in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Walsh took a changeup from Jared Angell and stroked the home run to left-center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the RubberDucks to leap in front, 4-2.
"It was a solid team effort," said Walsh after the game.
