Bryan Curry pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Erie SeaWolves, despite Curry's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Bowie Baysox at Jerry Uht Park. Bill Self, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed 1 run on 9 hits. Sergio Rosas earned his 11th save in 13 chances.

Bowie used the bat of Joe Gilmore to capture the win. The shortstop jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Baysox ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"Runs were at a premium," said Bowie manager Victor Griego.

Bowie is now 42-67.
