Flying Squirrels Take Tight Tilt, 3-2
|
The Richmond Flying Squirrels took Reading pitcher Daniel Jenney's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Diamond. The final score had Richmond getting past the Fightin Phils, 3-2. Jenney went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 2. Micah Minto notched his 10th save in 11 chances. The Flying Squirrels now have a record of 65-46 with the win over Reading.
In the bottom of the seventh, Richmond catcher Federico Duarte hit a run-scoring single to right field. The clutch hit made it, 3-2, Flying Squirrels.
After the game, Richmond manager Matt Bent applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
