Altoona turned a fine outing from starter Marcelino Ramires into a victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels at The Diamond. The final score was 4-2 in 10 innings. The Curve sit in second place in the Southern Division with a record of 64-47.
Noah Gelderman drew 1 walk for Altoona. With one out and the game tied in the top of the tenth inning, Gelderman, who is tied for 6th in the EL in triples with 5, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Richmond hurler Zach Lee, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Curve a 3-2 lead.
In postgame comments to the Altoona Citizen, Gelderman said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
