At The Diamond, the Portland Sea Dogs and Richmond Flying Squirrels were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Richmond Flying Squirrels converted a terrific effort from starter Marshall Facey into a win over the Portland Sea Dogs at The Diamond. The Flying Squirrels won the game by a final score of 4-2. Nick Robbins notched his 17th save in 24 chances.

The Flying Squirrels got a big hit from shortstop Sam Scheurer. In the bottom of the sixth, Scheurer smacked a 2-run double off Portland pitcher Mark Wike. It was his 11th double of the season. Suddenly, the Flying Squirrels were ahead, 3-2.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Portland manager Jason Hawkins.

Portland has now lost 5 in a row.
