Baysox Prevail, 2-0, Over Binghamton
|
The Bowie Baysox got a magnificent effort from pitcher Kyle Butler, who kept Binghamton hitters in check en route to a 2-0 Baysox win at Prince George's Stadium. Bowie reliever Kyle Butler got the win, raising his record to 12-6. Brian Groeschen was tagged with the loss. The Mets, now 52-60, have lost 5 in a row.
Orestes Cabao had a big run-scoring double for the Baysox in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Bowie leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Brian Groeschen and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 24th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Baysox ahead, 2-0.
"Not everyone likes pitching duels," said Cabao. "But I do."
