Bowie got a decent performance from pitcher Eric Thomas, but it wasn't enough to beat the Trenton Thunder. Trenton won the Prince George's Stadium contest, 4-2. Thomas threw 7.1 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. The winning pitcher was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Mario Guadamuz. He tossed 105 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 10 hits. Luis Accardi earned save number 1 this season.

Trenton used a well-timed hit by Glenn Welch to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Thunder ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
