Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old second baseman James Borst, the Portland Sea Dogs stopped the Altoona Curve, 5-2. Bobby Bowers earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record is now 8-5. Portland has now won 3 straight, while the Curve have lost 4 in a row.
In the bottom of the fourth, Portland shortstop Andy Herman had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Herman stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 4-2, Portland. For the game, he went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
