The Akron RubberDucks trumped the Binghamton Mets, 8-5, at NYSEG Stadium. Akron third baseman Jeff O'Dell was terrific. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. Seth Jones, the winner, improved to 7-6. He held the Mets to 4 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3. Karl Kramer, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.

Akron grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when O'Dell, who is tied for 5th in the EL in doubles with 27, hit a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season put the RubberDucks out in front, 5-4.

"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," O'Dell said in postgame remarks.

With the win, Akron goes to 70-44, while the Mets fall to 57-57.
