Yard Goats Notch 7-2 Win Versus Flying Squirrels
The first-place Hartford Yard Goats took on the Richmond Flying Squirrels in front of a spirited crowd.

Hartford turned a good effort from starter Justin Pewitt into a win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels at New Britain Stadium. The final score was 7-2. Pewitt got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run.

Hartford designated hitter Jimmy Vidito helped the Yard Goats go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Vidito hit a run-scoring single off Richmond pitcher Mark Pellicano.

"Justin made his pitches," said Hartford manager Jerry Jones.

With the win, Hartford goes to 66-49, while the Flying Squirrels fall to 53-62.
