Senators Beat Fisher Cats, 3-2
|
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Alexis Velasquez into a win. Instead, the Harrisburg Senators prevailed, 3-2. Velasquez came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters. Kevin Rice earned the save for Harrisburg, his 1st. Harrisburg occupies third place in the Southern Division at 64-54.
The Senators got a big at-bat from center fielder Andres Antu. For the game, Antu went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 35th double of the season gave Harrisburg a 3-2 lead.
"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said New Hampshire manager Quinn Autrey.
