The Richmond Flying Squirrels got a sterling performance from pitcher Bill Laird, but the Bowie Baysox still prevailed, 3-2. Laird threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Juan Jones, the winning pitcher, improved to 13-3. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 4. The Baysox win now puts them at 81-37.

Bowie right fielder Elijah Miller contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 45th hit of the season and put the Baysox ahead, 3-1.

Miller said his team "played with focus and determination."
