In Extras, Baysox Beat Mets, 4-3
|
The Bowie Baysox picked up a win at Prince George's Stadium, knocking off the Binghamton Mets, 4-3. Starting pitcher Carlos Lucero played a key role in the triumph. The win belonged to Dave Escobar in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Randy Owen took the loss for Binghamton. The first-place Baysox are now 77-42, the Mets 61-58.
The Baysox got a clutch hit from right fielder Josh Johnson. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Baysox.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Seth Dugas.
