RubberDucks Take Tight Tangle
The Akron RubberDucks faced a tough opponent in Binghamton pitcher William Arce, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Canal Park by a final score of 4-3. Arce went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Danny Youngblood picked up the win in relief. Matt Perez took the loss for Binghamton. The victory gives the RubberDucks a record of 62-56.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Phil Sproston came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Binghamton pitcher Matt Perez, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Akron on top, 4-3.

"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Sproston.
