Mets Win, 6-3, at Akron
|
Binghamton and Akron duked it out and the Mets came out victorious.
Starting pitcher Cruz Mares pitched well enough to help the Binghamton Mets beat the Akron RubberDucks, 6-3. Mares got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. Mares allowed 1 run.
Binghamton relied on the hitting of Jared Rauch to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mets on top, 2-1. For the game, Rauch had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Binghamton manager Brian Lees.
At 60-61, the Mets claim 4th place in the Northern Division.
