Portland Wins, 6-1
|
Portland Sea Dogs pitcher Rich Friesz was in fine form, leading his team past the Akron RubberDucks, 6-1. The Sea Dogs sport a record of 49-72.
Portland used a clutch at-bat from David White to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Sea Dogs ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Rich -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Sea Dogs manager Joe Call. "He was the key to us winning."
