SeaWolves Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Mets, 4-1
|
Binghamton wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Juan Morales, falling to the Erie SeaWolves, 4-1. Morales threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Alex Olivo earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. His record is now 4-1. Bryce Beasley converted his 8th save in 11 tries.
Jorge Alvarez had a direct impact on the outcome. Alvarez contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Erie up, 3-1.
"I like our mindset right now," said Erie manager Frank Hennessy.
The last-place SeaWolves sport a record of 52-70.
