Mets Lose By a Run at New Hampshire
|
The Binghamton Mets went down to defeat to Cornelius Cathey and his New Hampshire teammates. The final score was 1-0, in favor of the Fisher Cats. Cathey, now 7-10, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Preston Holub earned his 13th save, after closing out the game.
Kyle Long, who is tied for 8th in the EL in triples with 4, contributed to the New Hampshire win with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"We'll put this win in the can," said Cathey, "and go after the next one."
The triumph puts New Hampshire at 69-54 for the season.
