The Harrisburg Senators got a rain-soaked win over the Portland Sea Dogs.
The Harrisburg Senators scored a convincing win at Hadlock Field, defeating the Portland Sea Dogs, 11-3. One of the hitting stars was 22-year old third baseman Jim Bloomfield who went 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Gerardo Rodriquez went 9 innings for Harrisburg to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. His record improves to 3-1.
Harrisburg used the timely hitting of Chris Lombardo to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Senators on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Their at-bats were really impressive against us," said losing manager Jason Hawkins.
Harrisburg is now 76-48, Portland 56-68.
