Fightin Phils Fall to .500 After 3-1 Loss to RubberDucks
FirstEnergy Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Reading Fightin Phils and Akron RubberDucks.

The Akron RubberDucks bested the Reading Fightin Phils by a score of 3-1, with catcher Trevor Vallee getting the main credit. On the day, Vallee was 2-4 with 2 home runs for the RubberDucks. Seth Jones got the win, improving to 9-6. He held the Fightin Phils to 1 run on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 3.

In the top of the seventh, Vallee put his team in front with his 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which came against Phil Crosswhite, made it 2-1, Akron.

"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Vallee.

Akron is in first place in the Southern Division with a record of 77-47.
