Flying Squirrels Stick Mets with 3-0 Loss
|
Richmond turned a good effort from starter Nick Rittenhouse into a win over the Binghamton Mets at NYSEG Stadium. The final score was 3-0. After today's action, Richmond sits at 73-51, while Binghamton falls to 62-62.
Richmond relied on the bat of Josh Layne to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Flying Squirrels ahead, 2-0. For the game, Layne had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Rittenhouse said.
