Flying Squirrels Net 5-2 Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Richmond Flying Squirrels and Reading Fightin Phils.
Richmond pitcher Mario Correa did his part in helping his team beat the Reading Fightin Phils, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Correa picked up the win for Richmond, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 10-8. Hector Reyes closed the door for Richmond, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Trent Clow had a big 2-run home run for the Flying Squirrels in the bottom of the third inning. With Richmond leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Victor Perea and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Flying Squirrels on top, 4-0.
"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Clow.
The Flying Squirrels are now 58-67.
