SeaWolves Win Squeaker, 5-4, Over Flying Squirrels
The Erie SeaWolves knocked off the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 5-4, at The Diamond. Steve Culley was a big reason Erie won. The second baseman went 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times. John Brennan went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the EL in quality starts with 17, struck out 10 and walked 3. With the win, he's now 14-2 this season. Erie is now 72-53.

Erie used the timely hitting of Mike Severs to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the SeaWolves on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Culley.
