Thunder Lose Late to RubberDucks
The Akron RubberDucks bested the Trenton Thunder by a score of 12-8, in 10 innings. Ron Phillips deserved much of the credit. On the day, Phillips was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the RubberDucks. Preston Holub picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Daisuke Yoshioka was tagged with the loss. Akron is in third place in the Southern Division with a record of 71-54.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Phillips delivered big-time for Akron, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Daisuke Yoshioka. The game-changing hit put the RubberDucks on top, 11-8.

Phillips told a Akron Chronicle reporter that he felt "ecstatic" after the win.
