Arm & Hammer Park was host to some intense drama.

The Trenton Thunder faced a tough opponent in Akron pitcher Tyler Crumley, but still scratched out a win at Arm & Hammer Park by a final score of 5-3 in 11 innings. Crumley went 8 innings and allowed no runs. The winner was Bob Searle in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Hugo Rodriguez took the loss.

Trenton got a knockout punch from Glenn Welch. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"What a buzz," said Welch after it was over.

The 5th-place RubberDucks now sit at 63-62.
