Bowie Still On the Schneid After 1-0 Loss to Senators
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Harrisburg fans at FNB Field.
The Harrisburg Senators got a stellar performance from pitcher Juan Ventura, who handcuffed the Bowie offense en route to a win, 1-0, at FNB Field. The win was credited to Mario Morales in relief. His record improves to 2-4. George Bennett took the loss. The save went to Jacob DeLorme, number 1 for him.
Harrisburg right fielder Tom Monroe contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 53rd hit of the season and put the Senators ahead, 1-0.
Monroe called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
Harrisburg, at 68-58, holds down second place in the Southern Division.
