Flying Squirrels Win at Portland, 4-2
|
The Richmond Flying Squirrels stymied the Portland Sea Dogs, 4-2, at Hadlock Field. Craig Knopp had a good day at the plate. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles for Richmond. Richmond, at 76-51, holds down third place in the Northern Division.
Richmond grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Sergio Bravo delivered a 2-run single, to make it 4-2 in favor of the Flying Squirrels.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Portland skipper Ben White, "and it cost us."
