Rauch goes 4-for-5, Leads Mets to Win
The Binghamton Mets bested the Hartford Yard Goats by a score of 9-2, with shortstop Jared Rauch getting the main credit. On the day, Rauch was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Mets. Harry Sommer got the win, improving to 7-1. He held the Yard Goats to 2 runs on 3 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 5. Nick Ortega converted his 3rd save in 5 tries.

Rauch contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Binghamton in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Rauch took a sinker from Chris Kemerer and stroked the home run to center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Mets to leap in front, 4-2.

"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Rauch.

The 4th-place Mets are now 63-65, the Yard Goats 78-50.
