The Hartford Yard Goats got a superb performance from third baseman David Pugmire, but the Erie SeaWolves still won the game, 4-3. Pugmire went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Erie reliever Jesus Esquivel picked up the win to move to 5-2. Justin Pewitt suffered the loss. Bryce Beasley picked up his 9th save of the season.

Erie used the timely hitting of Josh Warren to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the SeaWolves on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Warren.

The last-place SeaWolves now sit at 54-73.
