Baysox Deal Senators 4-3 Defeat
|
The Bowie Baysox defeated the Harrisburg Senators, 4-3, in Eastern League action at Prince George's Stadium. Bowie pitcher Omari Heaver had a standout performance. Heaver, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Dave Escobar got the save, his 9th in 10 chances.
Ruben Nolasco had a big solo home run for the Baysox in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Bowie leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Phillips and swatted a home run to right. It was his 12th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Baysox ahead, 4-2.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Nolasco told the Bowie Bulletin.
With the victory, the Baysox upped their record to 82-47.
