Leon Lit, Curve Win, 6-3
|
The Altoona Curve trumped the Akron RubberDucks, 6-3, at Canal Park. Altoona first baseman Luis Leon was terrific. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. At 56-72, the Curve are currently 5th in the Southern Division.
Altoona used a timely hit from Brendan Fry to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Curve ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We put it together and came out with the win," Fry said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
