Behind Gauna, Mets Beat Fisher Cats, 2-0
|
NYSEG Stadium was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
Miguel Gauna, who is tied for 7th in the EL in strikeouts with 139, was brilliant in helping Binghamton beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 2-0. Scott Schimmel closed the door for Binghamton, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Gauna was the winner. He's now 8-8, after putting the New Hampshire offense in a vise grip. Over 8.2 innings, he gave up no runs on 3 hits, while racking up 7 Ks.
"Getting the win feels nice," said Gauna. "More importantly, I had a good game."
Binghamton now sits at 75-55, while New Hampshire falls to 74-56.
