Josh Layne impressed in the 8-3 Richmond win over Binghamton. Layne, who is tied for 4th in the EL in triples with 11, was 2-3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win belongs to Zach Stout in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Esteban Aguirre took the loss for Binghamton. Richmond is now 78-53, Binghamton 65-66.

With Richmond leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Layne hit a sinker from Esteban Aguirre for a 3-run home run. It was his 28th home run of the season and put the Flying Squirrels ahead, 5-0.

"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Layne said. "That's how it goes."
