The Altoona Curve withstood a fine game by Akron shortstop Eric Coffey at Canal Park, to upend the RubberDucks, 7-6. Coffey went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Altoona pitcher Mike Hansen earned the win, hiking his record to 8-4. Roberto Pluma suffered the loss. Ryan Rupnow earned the save for Altoona, his 5th.

Jose Sanchez was 1-4 against the RubberDucks. With the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Altoona in front, 7-6.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Curve manager Rene Almanza. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

Altoona, at 68-62, sits in 5th place in the Southern Division.
